Online Quran classes in New York City

Families in New York City, mainly in Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx, can keep a live Quran lesson at 30 minutes on Eastern Time. One student sits with one teacher. Monday through Friday is the request we hear most, and a Saturday or Sunday stays open when the weekday never clears. A male teacher or a female teacher is your choice. The first three classes are free. You do not pay, and you do not hand over a card.

One Eastern clock, written for three boroughs

All of New York State, including the five boroughs, stays on Eastern Time. Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx do not keep a different hour from Manhattan or from a town upstate. A 6:40 p.m. lesson is 6:40 p.m. on the phone in the apartment. March and November still change the daylight. Those two Sundays are written on the Eastern Time page, so this page leaves them there.

The week below is the city week, aimed at Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. Public schools in Manhattan and on Staten Island follow the same city calendar, but the commute and the apartment notes here belong to those three boroughs. Someone elsewhere in New York can use this same Eastern hour and should still open their own school calendar.

Across the river: Quran classes in Paterson, Quran classes in Jersey City, and Quran classes in Edison. Same hour farther away: Quran classes in Dearborn, Quran classes in Columbus, Quran classes in North Carolina, and Quran classes in Philadelphia. The four zones sit on the class-times hub.

Quran classes in a quiet corner

Most of the delay is a subway or a bus. School lets out, the platform fills, and the ride runs long. A lesson pinned to a published arrival starts while the student is still on the way. Begin the half hour once someone is inside the apartment, with the coat off. The minute the door closes is the minute that matters.

The next problem is the room. A lot of these homes are small. The call needs one quiet corner for 30 minutes, not a spare classroom. Headphones help when a sibling is at the table and a show is on in the next room. We will not pretend the rest of the apartment goes silent. If a parent wants to sit nearby, or if the camera should stay off, write info@quranclassusa.com or call or text +1 (380) 206-9388 before the form goes out. We answer for that teacher.

The city school calendar, and an afternoon that is already full

New York City Public Schools is the largest school district in the country. The district posts one 2026–27 calendar for its own schools, from 3-K through grade 12. On that calendar the first day is Thursday, September 10, 2026, and the last day for students is Monday, June 28, 2027. Winter recess runs from Thursday, December 24, 2026, through Friday, January 1, 2027. Midwinter recess is Monday, February 15, through Friday, February 19, 2027. Spring recess is Thursday, April 22, through Friday, April 30, 2027.

That file is not every school in the city. NYCPS says a private, parochial, or charter school, an NYC Early Education Center, or family childcare should be asked directly. Open the calendar that belongs to your child's building. Conference days send some students home early, and which students leave early depends on the level. Elementary, middle, and high school do not share one shortened afternoon. If the building closes for weather, the district may still hold its own day remotely, so the apartment can be doing two jobs at once.

After dismissal, many children are not free. An after-school program, a pile of homework, or a sibling pickup already owns the next stretch. Do not book the bell. Book the minute the student is home and can sit still. If that minute keeps sliding during the trial, move the standing time instead of hoping the ride gets shorter.

A long winter and a long summer

By the time many families are back from the train, a winter evening is already dark. Our half hour does not depend on a school building of ours, because we do not have one in the city. Keep the call only when the student can still give it a quiet corner. If the day fell apart, shift that one day. A morning is easier while school is out: winter recess, the midwinter week, and the long stretch of July and August after June 28.

When September comes back, move the lesson to the evening that survives the ride home. We will not invent a second calendar for a charter or a private school. Read the one your building actually follows.

No New York City office

Nobody comes to a room in Queens, Brooklyn, or the Bronx for this lesson. There is no city office and no in-person class. Mail for Quran Class USA goes to Cincinnati. That address is a mailbox on this same Eastern clock, and it is not a place you attend. The teacher is the person on the video call. Pick a woman or a man. The number on this site is the US office line, not a desk in the city.

Letters in the apartment

In Queens, Brooklyn, or the Bronx the half hour is one student with one of our teachers. Shaky letters start in Noorani Qaida. Fluent reading moves to Tajweed. A child who is memorizing reviews Hifz and does not add new pages after a long ride. Women and men both teach. Name your choice before the first evening. The trial's three classes are free, including a weekend if homework already owns the usual time. A woman booking her own lesson can read classes for sisters.

The bill starts only if you continue

Use the three free classes to see whether 6:40 p.m. still works once the ride home has had its say, and whether the teacher matches the request. You can stop when those three are done. If you continue, payment starts then, for 20 classes across the month, weekdays and weekend days included. Pay with Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, or a card. Nothing is collected while you are still trying the class.

Questions from Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx

Are Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx on Eastern Time?

Yes. New York City and the rest of New York State use Eastern Time. A 6:20 p.m. class is 6:20 p.m. in a Queens kitchen, a Brooklyn kitchen, and a Bronx kitchen. The March and November clock changes are on the Eastern Time page. These notes are written for those three boroughs. Someone elsewhere in the state shares the hour and should use their own school calendar.

Does the New York City Public Schools calendar cover my child's school?

The posted 2026–27 calendar is for NYCPS schools from 3-K through grade 12. It opens Thursday, September 10, 2026, and the last day for students is Monday, June 28, 2027. Private, parochial, and charter schools, plus NYC Early Education Centers and family childcare, keep their own calendars. Ask that school before you lock a standing time. Early-dismissal conference days are not the same for every grade.

The afternoon is already taken. When does a class fit?

Plenty of children leave dismissal and go straight into something else, so they are not home until later. Place the half hour after they are actually in the apartment, not at the bell. If the only open window is Saturday or Sunday, use a weekend class. A continued month is still 20 classes.

Our apartment is small. Where does the call happen?

One quiet corner and headphones are enough for 30 minutes. A bedroom with the door shut, or the far end of the table once dinner is done, is the usual spot. We are not promising the rest of the home stays silent. If you want a parent nearby, or a camera left off, ask before you send the form.

Is there a classroom or an office in New York City?

No. The lesson is a live video call, one student and one teacher. There is no New York City office and no in-person class. Mail for Quran Class USA goes to Cincinnati. That address is a mailbox. You do not travel there for a lesson, and +1 (380) 206-9388 is the US office line.

What happens over winter recess and the long summer?

NYCPS closes for winter recess from December 24, 2026, through January 1, 2027, and again for midwinter recess from February 15 through February 19, 2027. A morning is easier while school is out, including July and August after the June 28 last day. When the building year starts again in September, move the class back to the evening that survives the ride home.

Can a parent stay nearby, and does the camera stay on?

Ask first. Email info@quranclassusa.com or call or text +1 (380) 206-9388 and describe the setup you want. We will answer for that teacher. This page does not print a camera rule or a sitting-nearby rule.

How do I pay?

After the free 3-day trial, if you decide to continue, pay with Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, or card via Stripe. Nothing is due during the trial, and no card is required to start.

Sources checked October 2, 2026: All of New York, including New York City, uses Eastern Time. New York City Public Schools posts the 2026–27 calendar for its schools from 3-K through grade 12, and says private, parochial, charter, NYCEEC, and family childcare programs should contact the child's school (schools.nyc.gov calendar, calendar index). That calendar lists a first day of September 10, 2026, and a last day of June 28, 2027. The district news note lists winter recess, midwinter recess, and spring recess on the dates above (NYCPS calendar announcement). The district data page describes NYCPS as the largest school district in the United States (data at a glance). The Cincinnati address is mail only.
