Online Quran classes in Paterson
Paterson families, and families in nearby Passaic County towns such as Clifton and Prospect Park, can book a live 30-minute Quran class on Eastern Time. One teacher works with one student. Monday through Friday is the common request, and weekend classes are available when the weekday is already a train or a practice. You choose a male or female teacher. Three classes come before any payment, and no card is taken.
Passaic County, on the Eastern clock
Paterson is in Passaic County. Clifton, the city just to the south, is in Passaic County too. Prospect Park is a small borough in the same county and shares a border with Paterson. None of them leaves Eastern Time. A phone in any of those kitchens shows the same hour, including when the clocks move in March and November.
People mix the names because the roads do. A Clifton address is not a Paterson address, and a Prospect Park address is not either. The form should carry the town you live in and the minute you are home. The county does not change the clock. It does tell you which district calendar to open.
New Jersey spends the year on this clock. The daylight-saving rules, and the states that are only partly Eastern, are written on the Eastern Time page. All four zones sit on the class-times hub. Same hour, other places: Quran classes in Dearborn, Quran classes in Columbus, Quran classes in North Carolina, and Quran classes in New York City. In this state: Quran classes in Jersey City, Quran classes in Edison, and Quran classes in New Jersey for a town that is not on those notes. This page is the Passaic County ride home.
Quran classes after a longer ride
Route 20 runs along the Passaic River through Paterson. For most of that stretch it is McLean Boulevard, and it fills when school lets out. Route 19 is the short freeway from the Garden State Parkway and US 46 in Clifton north to I-80 and downtown Paterson. I-80 itself crosses the city east and west and meets both of those routes. The Garden State Parkway does not cut through the middle of Paterson. It passes just south of the city, which is why a Clifton evening often includes it.
NJ Transit is the other way people lose the first half hour. Paterson Station is on NJ Transit's Main Line, the rail trip toward Hoboken and New York. A class set for the published arrival is a class set for an empty chair. Add the walk, and the last light, and the coat.
Paterson Public Schools does not release every grade at one moment. Elementary, middle, and high school each end on their own, and then comes the car line or the walk. Clifton Public Schools is a separate district. Prospect Park runs its own district as well. A street near the line can belong to yet another district. Read the campus that has your child. Paterson Public Schools posts its calendar. Clifton Public Schools posts district information on its own site. Do not copy a dismissal from the town next door.
| Ride | When it stacks up | Where to put the class |
|---|---|---|
| Route 20 | Along the river at dismissal | Start after the car is parked, not at the light |
| Route 19 | Clifton up to I-80 and downtown | A short freeway can still erase the first minutes |
| I-80 | East-west at the end of a shift | An evening crawl is not a 4:40 p.m. start |
| Garden State Parkway | Just south of the city, north and south | Time it from the exit you actually use |
| NJ Transit | Paterson Station toward New York | Wait until someone is in the room |
Snow mornings, and a heavy summer
A northern New Jersey winter delays school and slows Route 20 and I-80. The campus may be closed while the student is home. Our half hour does not depend on that building, because there is no local classroom of ours. If the laptop connects, keep the time. If the street is the reason the call cannot happen, tell us and shift the day. One moved morning is better than a week of missed logins.
Summer breaks the school-year habit in the other direction. Passaic County afternoons get hot and humid. A 4:40 p.m. slot that worked in April assumes a child who just came inside. While school is out, a morning is the half hour that survives. When the district calendar opens the year again, move the class and read that file before you lock September. We are not guessing a citywide first day.
The class is the call
You do not drive to a room in Paterson for this, and you do not drive to one in Clifton or Prospect Park either. There is no local office and no in-person lesson. Cincinnati is where the site's mail goes. It is not where the teacher is. Choose a woman or a man. That person is the class.
If you want a parent nearby, or you want the camera handled a certain way, ask first. Email info@quranclassusa.com or call or text +1 (380) 206-9388. We will say what the teacher can do.
After the Main Line or I-80
Someone just off the Main Line, or just off I-80, who is still learning the script begins in Noorani Qaida and we close the book at thirty minutes. Tajweed is the following step, once reading is no longer stuck on the alphabet. When the plan is memorization, that sitting goes back over lines already held and then stops. Our teachers may be women or men. An older student who puts practice ahead of the call should read classes for teens and take a later slot. Nothing is owed for those three trial meetings.
Three classes, then a decision
Try three live meetings before any bill exists. The form skips the card. Use them to learn whether the minute still works after Route 20, I-80, or the train, and whether the teacher is the one you asked for. You may stop. If you continue, pay with Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, or card. That month is 20 classes, on weekdays and on weekend days when you need them. The first charge comes only after the trial.
Questions from Paterson and nearby Passaic County
Are Paterson, Clifton, and Prospect Park on Eastern Time?
Yes. All of New Jersey uses Eastern Time, including Passaic County and the daylight-saving changes. A 4:40 p.m. class is 4:40 p.m. on the phone in the kitchen, whether the address says Paterson, Clifton, or Prospect Park. The two Sundays when the clock shifts are on the Eastern Time page.
Paterson Public Schools, or a different district?
Paterson Public Schools is the city district. Clifton Public Schools is its own district, and Prospect Park runs its own as well. A street near the city line can belong to yet another district. Open the calendar for the name printed on the report card, not the town on the mailbox.
Is there a classroom in Paterson we drive to?
No. The lesson is a live video call between one student and one teacher. There is no Paterson building, no Clifton building, and no Prospect Park building to visit. The mailing address on this site is in Cincinnati, and it is not a campus.
What if snow closes school?
A delay or a closed campus is common in a northern New Jersey winter. The call does not need the school to be open. If the student is home and the laptop works, keep the half hour. If your street keeps you from it, say so and move that day.
What if a parent is still on NJ Transit?
Then the class is early. Paterson Station is on NJ Transit's Main Line, the rail trip toward Hoboken and New York. Book the half hour for when someone is actually in the room, not for the minute the train was supposed to arrive.
Can a parent sit nearby, and does the camera stay on?
Ask before the form goes in. Email info@quranclassusa.com or call or text +1 (380) 206-9388 and say what you want. We will tell you what that teacher can do. This page does not publish a sitting-in rule or a camera rule.
How do I pay?
After the free 3-day trial, if you decide to continue, pay with Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, or card via Stripe. Nothing is due during the trial, and no card is required to start.

Sources checked October 2, 2026: Paterson, Clifton, and Prospect Park are in Passaic County, on Eastern Time. The New Jersey Department of Transportation describes I-80 and Route 20 as running through Paterson, Route 19 as the link from Clifton toward downtown, and the Garden State Parkway as passing just south of the city.
